What is Nurul Izzah smoking?
Raja Sara Petra
I could not believe what I read when Nurul Izzah Anwar said, “Tun Dr Mahathir of 2018 is not Tun Dr Mahathir of 1998.” Of course, the Mahathir of 2018 is not the same Mahathir of 1998. In 1998 Mahathir was oozing with confidence and had the entire government machinery at his disposal. Today, Mahathir is desperate and will do anything to stay relevant and protect his political dynasty and family business empire.
If I did not know better I would have suspected that Mahathir has bought off Nurul Izzah with dedak. After all, was it not Mahathir who said cash is king? Mahathir believes everyone can be bought and that money can cure all problems. And Nurul Izzah’s latest posting gives the impression that she has either taken leave of her senses or she has been paid to say what she said.
Nurul Izzah said Mahathir has changed and that it was Mahathir who came to Pakatan Harapan and not Pakatan Harapan who went to Mahathir. This is the lamest excuse I have ever heard in my life and even a ten-year old will find that argument illogical. Most people do not believe Mahathir has changed. In fact, they believe Pakatan Harapan has changed and has come down to the level it would scrape the bottom of the barrel to get into power, even work with Mahathir if need be.
